Seven-deuce Offsuit

White knuckled seven-deuce offsuit
At a table of men exploring fate
Everything I love riding on a bet
My life cascading to unpaid debt
Praying for rain
Outside a burning house
Then washed down the street
Like a soaked little mouse
Looking for rescue
Within every face I see
A stray elephant
Who needs a place to be
Clutching at odds and ends
And drifting away smoke in the wind
