Hole In The Hedgerow

Poetry, Stories, and Other Musings With Spilt Ink

Last Train Home

I put on cologne
On the last train home
Lighthouses in the night
Winking across the rooms
Frayed wicks burning bright
But only for tonight
I’ll say goodbye to you
Then goodnight to the moon
My vacancy sign flickers
Neon light in the night
My road signs point out of town
To guide them on their way away
