There’s an aura in the place,
I know because I’m the one that put it there.
The aura is love,
I like to think you’ll feel it if you walk through it.
Few people know the exact spot they were born,
I’m one of the few who does,
And I return to the spot often.
To look at my palms for a bit.
Think about my life before I was born,
Think about how then my hands grew right before my eyes.
How the back of my hand is this new map of wrinkles and scars,
That I don’t know all that well.
I got tired of saying goodbyes,
So I came back to the place I was born,
Decided I’d be a shipard of some trees,
Thought I’d watch them grow.
I got a little older,
The trees got a little wider.
Some things never change,
Those things didn’t,
And the things that do,
Did.
